The United Nations General Assembly- International Press Committee
Welcoming the International Press Chief for the Conference :
Ms. Dipshikha Nanda
Currently pursuing her final year of Bachelor’s degree in English Literature at Ravenshaw University in Cuttack, she has been a part of a number of MUN conferences in and outside Odisha. She has always taken a keen interest to be a member of the International Press Team, be it as a journalist, editor or as the Head of International Press.
She believes, MUNs are a great platform to showcase one’s flair for writing, and that the International Press is functionally a very important part of any Model UN Conference, and is rightfully referred to as the eyes and ears of the conference.
Apart from this, she is an avid reader and her love for fiction never ends! She is a travel enthusiast too.
She Looks forward to a wonderful three day experience at the maiden edition of BJEM MUN. Good luck!
Ms. Nipunya Panda
A Biotechnology graduate from Trident Academy of Creative Technology, Bhubaneswar, Ms. Nipunya entered the domain of MUNs in 2015, and in this brief period, she has subsequently proven herself to be one amongst the best. Adjudged as the Best Reporter at KIIT International MUN 2015, that set all the subsequent stimulus required to do MUNs further, especially after graduating earlier this year.
She is a keen reader and takes great delight in reading non-fiction. Though, fiction appeals equally to her! She is a music enthusiast and that has won her many awards in the past.
She practically got into creative writing through MUNs and there has been no looking back ever since her first MUN. She is currently working as a website content writer for a start-up software company.
She strongly believes that there is no better platform than these UN simulations that could sensitise students towards the pressing issues around the globe, one of the major reasons being the kind of perspectives it adds when they actually get into the shoes of a diplomat.
That said, she also believes that the International Press, being a creatively expressive aspect of MUNs, or the world, for that matter, imparts the skills of articulation to students. Expression with conviction and precision is what being a part of the International Press is all about. !
